Setting The Dice If
you have ever experimented with dice setting you’ve probably discovered that many casinos frown on this procedure. In fact some resorts will prevent you from setting the dice, as they have
regulations on actually how the dice should be tossed. The dealers must adhere to these “laws” so you should not blame them - they are just doing their jobs. (continued)

Come on Down My old friend Steve
always makes come bets, but he never quite knows what to do with the odds. He’s a school buddy from my Brooklyn high school, where I was the resident mathematician. I was always telling him that he would
do a lot better if he figured out the mathematical implications of his bets, rather than just go on hunches. (continued)

bet would be for $10, then $20, then $40 then $80, $160, $320...and then you're usually up against the $500 casino table limit. (continued)

I hadn’t seen my Dad in long time, in fact, not since he finally bought a computer and took up golf.
We didn’t have much in common any more, him being retired and me living almost 1000 miles away. Still, I
stopped off to see him on the way to Reno to meet some friends. When we met, he showed me his brand new computer. One of his friends at the Senior Center had installed a golf hints screen saver on it. He
liked to turn on the computer, wait ten minutes, and watch the screen saver take over.
